Connect Groups

We believe we’re better together

Attendance to City Gates goes beyond our Sunday Services. Connect groups offer you the opportunity to meet with others, in a relaxed homely environment, enabling you to form friendships for times of fellowship and personal support. There are many Connect Groups in various locations throughout Essex and London.

What is a Connect Group?

A Connect Group is a small group of believers, from City Gates, who meet during the week, some in-person, some online, to fellowship, pray, worship and study the Bible together. There is no strict format to how this occurs, but typically the session would begin with a welcome and informal chat, followed by Bible study or a shared word by one of the members and often ends in prayer and worship.

We model our approach on 1 Corinthians 14:26 “…When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up” We encourage Connect Group members to build each other up and establish genuine friendships.

City Gates Church Connect Group Code of Conduct

City Gates Church is truly committed to promoting a safer environment for people to feel safe and looked after. We need our Online & home Groups to be a safe place so, if you choose to sign up, you must agree to participate in your group in a manner that upholds this commitment.

How do I join a Connect Group?

Several times a year, the Connect Group Ministry will set up our “Initial Connect” stand after the Church service. This will be advertised during the service and will allow you to express your interest in joining a group. We will attempt to place you into a group according to spaces available.

YOU MUST HAVE ATTENDED CITY GATES CHURCH FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS BEFORE BEING SENT TO A GROUP.
